I attended the grand opening of Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) yesterday and it was a great event showcasing some of the best and grandest vehicles that you can buy here in the Philippines.
The event I think, was led by the introduction of the new 2022 Peugeot 2008 SUV, a compact small sport utility vehicle that offers 130 horsepower and a price tag of 1.55 million pesos.
This is also a big event for the Chinese-owned GAC Motors and Changan Auto where they introduced stunning and modern looking compact crossovers and SUVs.
Of course, Japan made cars are also in the event with Subaru, Mitsubishi and Nissan, all showcasing their current line ups. Though these manufacturers don’t have a new model to brag for, people still go to their spaces for inquiries and free test drive trips.
Sadly, Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, Ford, Kia and Hyundai are nowhere to be seen this year. So probably next year will be a good reveal for these car giants.
Chinese brands are the main protagonists for this year’s MIAS, as MG, Foton, Cherry, Changan Auto, Geely and GAC Motors all have the bright lights shine on them. Well, they deserved the attention as their vehicles are affordable and quite modern looking. They are stunningly gorgeous cars actually!
MIAS was hosted by none other than Mr. James Deakin and spearheaded by the event’s officials and executives from different car makers.
Here are some of the images and raw footage from my visit at MIAS.
